Starting in June 2015, Mario López joins BEDA as Programme Lead for the ‘Design Europe 2021 - Design for Cultural and Creative Growth’ project that has recently received funding from the European Commission.
He will work closely with President Robin Edman and Vice-President John Mathers, leading on the development and delivery of the programme; his management and monitoring will ensure the success of the project.
Mario’s background is in project management and EU policy; his most recent role involved administrative and financial management of ICOSOP (Iniciativa para el Control Social de las Políticas Públicas) at the University Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain), which aims to build a web-based observatory to monitor the creation and implementation of public policies by Spanish citizens.
He also has extensive experience of EU policy monitoring and funding mechanisms, having worked as a Policy Officer providing regional representation from Andalusia to the EU.
Mario says of his new role, “I hope to bring my commitment and motivation to contribute to BEDA’s goals. I want to be the person who gets things done!”
Mario is based in the BEDA office in Brussels, and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org
