The best piece of work by an up-and-coming designer will receive the Red Dot: Junior Prize, with prize money of 10,000€.

Up-and-coming designers, who have graduated within the past two years, can submit their design and creative projects in 17 different categories, ranging from Packaging Design, Posters to Online to Film & Animation. The Early Bird rate runs only until 10 April, after which the Regular rate applies until 29 May. Latecomers can register until 15 June 2018. A 20% discount on the registration fees is available to participants who provide documentation of their apprenticeship, degree or a degree certificate.

Boost for those starting out on their career

Even successful designers were once starting out on their career, and they know how difficult it is to gain access to the creative industry. “The Red Dot: Junior Award aims to help young people get a foothold in the industry”, explains Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. “When they have the opportunity to try out their ideas and make them a reality, this results in wonderful achievements”, the design expert says.

The Red Dot Award aim provide a platform for emerging talents and to give awards to the best of these newcomers. Winning the internationally recognised Red Dot is an opportunity for new creatives to make their breakthrough in the design industry and to convince potential clients of their own expertise.

Good design deserves a Red Dot

The Red Dot Jury is made up of 24 experts who evaluate all works individually. They award the Red Dot for good design achievements. But only the best piece of work by an up-and-coming designer receives the Red Dot: Junior Prize, including prize money of 10,000 €. The winner will be announced on 26 October 2018 at the awards ceremony in the Konzerthaus Berlin, Germany.
