10 23 SeeThrough workshops for policymakers, case studies and policy research, SEE is building a bank of evidence to support governments to integrate design into innovation policies and programmes. In the latest edition of the SEE bulletin, the partners share the findings of the Design Policy Monitor 2014, a snapshot of design policy across Europe.

We provide insight into how SEE supported the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region to include design in their Regional Development Programme 2014–2020. The European Commission also shares reflections on developing the ‘Action Plan for Design-driven Innovation’. We also continue to build a profile of design policy around the globe with ‘Design Policy Map’ entries from Latvia, Ireland and Thailand.

Since 2012, SEE has engaged over 600 government officials in hands-on workshops on the themes of Design Policy, Design Support, Service Design, Social Design and Design Management. As a result of policymakers participating in SEE workshops, engagement by SEE partners and drawing on SEE research, design now features in 15 new policies and 37 new programmes. SEE is funded by the European Commission as part of the European Design Innovation Initiative. SEE is led by PDR (Design Wales) at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
