Communicating Objects

This new exhibition will highlight the opportunities and potential created by the millions of connected devices in daily use.

Communication devices are part of our daily life (studies show that by 2020, the world will have 50 billion connected devices). Designers and startup companies explore the wide range of opportunities generated by these technologies, as many scenarios for the future living environment. The exhibit invites visitors to step inside four universes:

- Empathy

- At home

- In the city

- For our body

From September 14th 2017 to January 7th 2018.

Coproduced between the Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains - France (UNESCO City of Media Arts) and the Cité du design Saint-Étienne - France (UNESCO Creative City of Design), the exhibition presents designers’ work for digital integration in research and innovation.

The Cité du design Saint- Étienne is also collaborating with the French Tech network (from Saint-Étienne Métropole) and have launched a call for projects, offering  French startup companies specialising in communication devices the chance to display their work in an international exhibition. The exhibition also aims to promote the UNESCO design network to visitors and to highlight the creativity of the UNESCO design cities.
