Barcelona, guest city at the Beijing Design Week
Barcelona was the guest city at the Beijing Design Week (BJDW), one of the most relevant events in Asia in the field of design, architecture and urban planning, held from 26 September to 3 October. Under the slogan ‘Barcelona in Beijing', Barcelona design was featured in the fourth edition of this event, an exceptional showcase for international promotion.

Exhibition of Biennial of Design (BIO 50) results in Ljubljana
Regional Development Agency of Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) is the main partner of this year’s Biennial of Design (BIO 50) organized by the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana.
On its 50th anniversary this international event builds on its tradition and history, advancing into an experimental, collaborative territory, where design is employed as a tool for questioning and transforming ideas about industrial production, public and private space, and pre-established systems and networks.

MÖBEL, a brand-new, unique and sustainable product line from ResourceLab, will première at the Design Flanders Gallery during Design September 2014.
MÖBEL is a collection of designer furniture conceived by established designers and built by employees of the social economy.
The “ResourceLab” label first saw the light of day during the spring of 2011. The Recycling Workshop is the production site of the non-profit organisation WEB vzw, which creates new products using materials from the Kringwinkelcentrum recycling stores centre that cannot be sold without significant and innovative processing.

The € Design project provides insights on measuring the value created by design. The aim of this project is to identify parameters of design as an economic factor for production and the relationships between those parameters, and to provide policy makers with reliable macro-economic data about the impacts of design efforts in terms of GDP growth, and thereby to create evidence for mainstreaming design as an economic factor of value creation.
