Report on the EHDM conference Copenhagen
On the 15th of May the European House of Design Management organised a conference on Encouraging Design Driven Public Sector Innovation, to preview the EHDM Toolkit and celebrate the potential of design and innovation in the public sector. Attendees heard from a range of speakers including industry experts and practitioners who have successfully applied design and innovation methods in the public sector.

On Thursday, 8 May 2014, more than 120 attendees joined the PROUD Forum “Design for societal challenges” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. Experts from around the world offered insights into new design tools and methods and assessed their potential in terms of their productive and social value.
“Saint-Etienne meets Graz” exhibition - Design Monat Graz 30/04/2014 – 01/06/2014
From 30th April to 1st June 2014, Saint-Etienne will be the guest of honour of Graz Design Monat Festival. Each year since 2012, Graz UNESCO Creative City of Design (Austria) invites a partner city of the UNESCO Network to this event, to show international design, creativity, innovations and development as well as supporting the exchange of know-how.
24-25 April 2014, Barcelona: The Final Event of the Interreg IVC project Design-led Innovations for Active Ageing
The Design-led Innovations for Active Ageing project (DAA) brought together eight European cities to come up with sustainable solutions for an ageing demographic. The project’s goal was to contribute to social innovation and public sector transformation in the field of senior care. Service design experts worked with experienced senior care specialists and other stakeholders to come up with new solutions.
Size Doesn’t Matter? Design from Estonia exhibition runs from 24 April until May 25, 2014.
Estonia is a small but extremely creative country. The density of designers is very high. Estonia has one designer per 800 residents and the country’s design courses are quite famous.
CLICKNL | DESIGN at the Hannover Messe
This year, the Netherlands is partner country of the Hannover Messe, the world’s leading technology trade fair. The Messe is open from 7 to 11 April. This is a key opportunity to showcase quality solutions to global challenges. Alongside other Dutch Top Sector partners, the Dutch Creative Industries will present themselves to Germany and the world at the Holland Pavilion. In the exhibition ‘Golden Dutch Design’, CLICKNL|DESIGN has put together a unique exhibition of 30 Dutch products which have won the prestigious German ‘iF’ award.
Belgium is Design is once again in evidence during this year’s Milan Design Week, which takes place from 8-13 April 2014.
One focal point of Belgium is Design’s approach this year is Reflections at the Triennale.
An exhibition with two standout strands: mirrors and other reflecting surfaces. Many pieces will be seen for the first time in Milan, while others illuminate the country’s reflective designs over the last decade.
Conference and exhibition “Design inside!” on 4 April 2014 marks end of Design Bulldozer project.
Design Bulldozer is a pilot project initiated by Estonian Design Centre, Enterprise Estonia and Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications with the aim to improve Estonia’s business competence and export potential through design. Within the framework of the project, 10 well-known Estonian companies have taken part in a two-year design programme, led by experienced designers under the auspices of the Estonian Design Centre.

From February 22 through March 2, 2014, designers, architects, representatives of the economic and business sectors as well design aficionados from around the world will meet in Munich for the third time at MCBW 2014. Their objective: to sensitize the public to design and its relevance to our society, culture and economy.
