Inspiring exchange: PROUD Forum “Design for societal challenges” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen
How does design react to social change? Which methods does it use? And how can design values be conveyed in a society where the word “design” is applied to almost everything? On Thursday, 8 May 2014, more than 120 attendees joined the PROUD Forum “Design for societal challenges” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. Experts from around the world offered insights into new design tools and methods and assessed their potential in terms of their productive and social value.
Conference and exhibition “Design inside!” on 4 April 2014 marks end of Design Bulldozer project.
Design Bulldozer is a pilot project initiated by Estonian Design Centre, Enterprise Estonia and Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications with the aim to improve Estonia’s business competence and export potential through design. Within the framework of the project, 10 well-known Estonian companies have taken part in a two-year design programme, led by experienced designers under the auspices of the Estonian Design Centre.
Conflict and Design, the 7th Triennial for Design in Flanders
The 7th Triennial for Design in Flanders 2013 is an investigation into the social relevance of design and the role and responsibility of designers in our society. This Triennial presents concepts, projects, objects and processes which are primarily developed within relatively new developments in design such as user-centered design, social design, participation design, process design, sustainable design, ethical design etc.
