Belgium is Design report on their exhibition showcasing collaborations between thirteen furniture designers and companies.

For Milan Design Week 2016, the organisations and institutions that support and promote Belgian design under the collective name Belgium is Design, have joined forces with the international contemporary culture magazine DAMN°. Taking part in the group event A Matter of Perception: Tradition & Technology at the Palazzo Litta, the seventh edition of Belgium is Design’s presentation in Milan, Belgian Matters, featuring the results of pairings between 13 designers and companies, the latter often coming from sectors far removed from furniture design. Each project has been commissioned especially for the event and will be seen for the first time during the Salone.

Six emerging designers represent Belgium at the SaloneSatellite 2016. Under the name Belgium is Design, the traditional collective platform organised by WBDM (Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode) once again makes its contribution to enriching this space dedicated to young creatives within the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The projects selected for this edition form a sort of portrait of emerging Belgian design: a broad reflection on the potential of materials, on the reuse and conversion of objects, on the ways of making, on the forms and finishes, on the process, on the emotions, poetry and storytelling.

Romy di Donato, Frédérique Ficheroulle, PaulinePlusLuis, Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte, Valentin van Ravestyn, Thien Vo.
