Between 23 September and 2 October 2016, all eyes will be on design in Budapest, Hungary. Organised for the 13th time this year, Budapest Design Week will showcase the human side of design, focusing on the relationship between people, objects and built environment under the slogan Design Anatomy.
Straying from traditions, this year Budapest Design Week welcomes three countries instead of one as its Guest of Honour: the Visegrad Countries. Through the central exhibition and other events focusing on the work of designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, visitors will have the opportunity to get an insight into the vivid design scene of Central-Eastern Europe, celebrating 25 years of the Visegrád Group. Other recurring elements of the Festival – like the popular Design Tours and Open Studios – will again provide an inside view into the creative work of Hungarian designers, while numerous exhibitions, fashion shows, presentations and special events will take place in several locations throughout the capital during Budapest Design Week. As in previous years, the Hungarian Design Award and Design Management Award ceremony and exhibition will also enrich the colorful programme.
The main sponsor and patron of Budapest Design Week is the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, and the main professional partner is the Hungarian Design Council. The festival is organised by HIPAvilon Hungarian Intellectual Property Agency Nonprofit Ltd.
