The SEE Design Policy Monitor 2015 draws on the experiences of SEE to examine future trends in design policies and programmes. SEE is a network of 11 European partners engaging with national and regional governments to integrate design into policies and programmes. Between 2012 and 2014, the SEE partners delivered 102 hands-on workshops to government and through new research, workshops and advocacy influenced 16 policies and 40 programmes.
SEE Platform developed, tested and validated a framework for policy-makers to understand the performance of a nation or region’s design system. Design-driven innovation ecosystems or ‘Design Innovation Ecosystems’ is a policy construct that helps in developing design-driven innovation policies. By transferring established theory on innovation ecosystems to design, design stakeholders can map their Design Innovation Ecosystems to address the gaps and capitalise on the strengths.
