This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design, a higher number than ever before.
The ‘ein&zwanzig’ (“twenty-one”) awards were presented on 16 April on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2018 in Zona Tortona.
The submission deadline for the UX Design Awards has been extended until 20 April 20 2018. The extension offers precious additional time for businesses, design consultancies and agencies worldwide to submit user-centric products, services and concepts to the competition. The UX Design Awards focus on user experience as a key asset in a connected world.
For a successful start to the career – Red Dot: Junior Award is looking for talents in communication design
Trainees, students and young professionals are also encouraged to demonstrate their design expertise – in the Red Dot: Junior Award, which is part of the international design competition. The best piece of work by an up-and-coming designer will receive the Red Dot: Junior Prize, with prize money of 10,000€.
Outstanding products, services and concepts focusing on environmental compatibility, good design and transparency can be submitted for the German Federal Ecodesign Award 2018 until 9 April 2018. Submitted projects must be available or planned to be released on the German market.
The DBA Design Effectiveness Awards recognised 54 wide-ranging examples of design that have had a tangible and measurable effect on business success on Thursday, 22 February, at The Brewery in London. Judged by business leaders and entered jointly by client and designer, the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards celebrate design’s transformative impact on business.
From 17 to 22 April 2018, the German Design Council will be showcasing the 21 winners of the young talents award ‘ein&zwanzig’. The innovative work of outstanding young product designers from all over the world will be on display as part of the Milan Design Week in the Tortona Design District.

The 2018 shortlist for the Design Business Association’s ‘Design Effectiveness Awards’ includes 54 entries from 15 countries. The awards celebrate the power of design to drive business success, and the winner will be announced on 22 February 2018.
