BEDA, in conjunction with Verband Deutscher Industrie Designer e.V. and Deutscher Designtag e.V., supports the initiative of the European Commission to improve sustainability in consumption and production patterns. BEDA has provided feedback on the prioritisation of product segments, environmental and circular system designs and the need for an integrated policy instrument. BEDA also emphasises the importance of expanding design training across the EU to ensure that designers can acquire qualifications in safety aspects, familiarise themselves with European legislation and develop technical solutions that prevent stylistic obsolescence.
