EU-Level Technical Guidance on Adapting Buildings to Climate Change
27/04/23The publication collects and synthesises existing methods, specifications, best practices and guidance for climate-resilient buildings into a document that can provide practical advice for professionals.
In particular, the first four chapters of the guidance presented here provide:
- an overview of existing EU-level policies and standards relating to adaptation in buildings,
- a summary of the current state of structural design building standards at a European and national level, relating to climate resilience in buildings,
- an overview of the main elements of climate vulnerability and risk assessment for buildings
- the main building blocks of existing approaches used to rate the resilience of buildings.
A separate report, the Best practice guidance on adapting buildings to climate change, guides how to enhance the resilience of buildings, including by presenting practical solutions and case studies.
