Report on Women in Design

Gender equality is one of the fundamental aims of the European Union. To contribute to the current body of knowledge regarding women’s participation in the IP system, the EUIPO has analysed the gender gap in designs from three different perspectives: the participation of women designers in the labour market; the gender pay gap between male and female designers; and the participation of women designers in the creation of Registered Community Designs.

The report by EUIPO finds that women designers are under-represented in the design profession and among RCD creators, and they earn less than their male colleagues.
