Social Design Days Nuremberg 2024

From 7th to 9th October 2024 we invite you to the second edition of the Social Design Days Nuremberg! The Social Design Days are the event for new ideas around the confrontation with social challenges through design. It is about creating solutions together that benefit the whole society and promote social participation. Become part of the Social Design Days 2024 and submit your topic for the Social Design Jam.

Social design focuses on the interdisciplinary exchange between business, politics and design as well as the experience of design as a process. This year, everything revolves around the topic of “better together” in order to strengthen social cohesion. Especially in times of growing inequality and polarization, it is important to find each other again, develop understanding and tackle acute challenges together.

The annual theme 2024: better together
Society is always strong when as many as possible pull together and stand up for a future worth living. At a time when extreme political movements are increasing, social inequalities are becoming stronger and democratic values are repeatedly challenged, the question of how we want to live together in the future is more urgent than ever. The increasing division of society weakens not only cohesion, but also trust in democratic processes. If you no longer get together at a table, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find solutions that are good for everyone.

If values such as freedom of expression and the rule of law are called into question and populist camps exploit people’s insecurities, action must be taken. Democratic principles must be protected and at the same time social inequality, economic uncertainty and lack of political participation must be addressed. Only through education, equal economic opportunities and democratic participation can a society be shaped in such a way that it stands firmly together and is fit for the future. And then everyone gets something out of it.
