Do you have an idea you want to bring to life? Or are you looking for inspiration and new challenges? Join the design camp and discover how creativity and teamwork can lead to innovative solutions! Young participants will be mentored by designers and sustainability experts from the Estonian Design Centre.
The Estonian Design Centre, Kräpp Design Studio, and MTÜ Loovuse Arendaja invite young people to a design camp to explore how they can contribute to solving societal challenges, identify the most pressing issues, and approach them from a youth perspective.
Who is it for?
The design camp is aimed at young people aged 11–19 from Ida-Virumaa (younger participants are also welcome if interested), who want to learn something new, develop their ideas, or generate solutions for exciting challenges while working in a team.
Topics covered at the camp:
- Healthy lifestyle (sports, nutrition, mental health)
- Consumption (repairing items, reuse, circular economy, reducing waste)
- Community building (maintaining relationships, creating connections, social well-being)
- Enhancing biodiversity (green spaces, nature conservation, integrating nature into urban areas, parks)
- Accessibility (equal opportunities in products and services for everyone)
All participants will have the opportunity to present the ideas they developed during the camp in a competition. A winner will be selected from the submitted ideas and awarded an individual consultation with an expert in the field to further develop their idea.
Why participate?
- New skills and experiences: Learn how to design products and services that make life better, more sustainable, and accessible. The camp provides insight into what designers do and how design can change the world.
- Creative teamwork: The best ideas are born from collaboration. Gain experience working in a team and learn how to bring your ideas to life. The camp is a great opportunity to make new connections and expand your network.
- Ready solutions: By the end of the camp, participants will have created solutions or prototypes that can be submitted to the competition, refined, and used to improve local life.
Improved competitiveness: Knowledge of design gives you an edge both in the job market and in further studies. The solutions developed during the camp are also perfect for enhancing your creative portfolio.
