Seminar About AI & Ethics

Seminar for Strategic Design with AI

About AI & Ethics – How responsibility is lived in design
How do we use AI fairly, transparently and sustainably?

AI is never neutral. It reflects the values, prejudices and power structures of those who shape them. That is why it is crucial that companies develop their own AI policy. Such a directive creates clarity on how AI systems are used ethically, responsibly and in accordance with corporate values. But how do you translate ethical principles into concrete decisions, from data selection to the user interface?

Who is this seminar for:
CEOs, designers, developers and product managers who do not need theoretical debates, but practical guidelines to integrate ethics into their work.

What is it about?
This seminar explores how to recognise and avoid bias and discrimination in data, algorithms, and design decisions, where manipulative interfaces begin and how to design ethical alternatives. It also looks at what true transparency means and how to communicate AI decisions in a clear and understandable way. Finally, it addresses the sustainability of AI, including resource consumption, long-term effects, and ecological responsibility.

What to expect:
Instead of a theoretical ethics lecture, you will work with practical checklists and frameworks that can be applied directly. The focus is not on moral accusations, but on solution-oriented approaches that connect innovation with responsibility. Rather than receiving finished answers, you will develop your own AI policy that fits your work.

You will gain clarity about ethical risks in AI, from bias to dark patterns, along with practical tools to anchor fairness, transparency, and sustainability in your processes. You will also take the first steps toward creating an AI policy that goes beyond compliance.

Seminar leader: Henrik von Janda-Éble
Henrik von Janda-Éble is founder and shareholder of the branding agency stilbezirk, entrepreneur (including the online travel platform LUEX), brand consultant, director/producer and AI consultant. He was a lecturer for digital design at UDK Berlin and UTS Sydney.
