Who We Are
The Design Foundation is a private and non-profit organization dedicated to promoting design. Our goal is to encourage institutions, industries, and companies across different sectors to integrate design into their strategic frameworks.
The Design Foundation of the Region of Valencia was established as part of the legacy of World Design Capital Valencia 2022 to create a space within the region that unites the design ecosystem. Our mission is to foster a knowledge-based culture across creative, economic, and social sectors, while highlighting the importance of design as a key tool for creating value. This foundation serves as an essential resource to enhance business competitiveness and contribute to an improved quality of life for all citizens.
What We Do
We work to advance design by fostering innovation, sustainability, and accessibility, collaborating directly with businesses, institutions, and society as a whole.
We are establishing a recognized and growing annual agenda, uniquely expanding beyond the design niche. Through our institutional efforts, we champion design as a strategic tool to address not only cultural challenges but also social and economic ones. By encouraging both public administration and businesses to integrate design, we create opportunities for the entire creative and cultural sector, fostering connections and collaborations across disciplines.
Our activities embrace a universal and sustainable vision of design. We organize events on urbanism, contemporary craftsmanship, and business, addressing design from a cross-disciplinary perspective. Each year, we curate inspiring conferences like Paradís, sustainability and industry-focused congresses such as Future of Fashion, and debate forums like the Valencian Business Forum. Additionally, we host academic sessions for design schools and we organize València Design Fest as an annual great agenda of events in itself, the city’s month-long celebration of design, a design festival to reinforce our commitment to making design a driving force for innovation and progress.
