Who We Are

The Foundation German Design Council was formed in 1953, driven by the BDI (Federation of German Industries) and by resolution of the German Parliament, to meet the increasing demand from business, politics and research for information on the subject of design.

What We Do

Today, the German Design Council is one of the world’s leading competence centres for communication and knowledge transfer in the field of design. The circle of members currently comprises more than 300 companies, who together employ over 3 million people.
