Who We Are
Wallonie-Bruxelles Design/Mode (WBDM) is a governmental agency for the promotion of design and fashion, which aims to increase the international reputation of designers from Wallonia and Brussels.
What We Do
Through a constant participation in major tradeshows, exhibitions and conferences, WBDM’s mission is to increase networking and business opportunities for Belgian design and fashion talent in the international market. For instance, we exhibit at Milan Furniture Fair, Maison&Objet Paris, New York Textile Month, and we invite to Belgium foreign design companies looking for collaborations with designers.

The BELGIUM IS DESIGN project promote Belgian design around the world and it is an initiative of the following institutions: Flanders DC, MAD – Home of Creators and Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode. This joined-up approach has been active since 2011, stimulating and developing initiatives to showcase Belgium’s designers, manufacturers and producers in foreign markets. Belgium is Design’s strategy takes shape through recurring presentations at key events, such as the Milan Design Week or the Maison&Objet fair in Paris. It is enriched by occasional participation in other events that allow us to approach new markets or promising opportunities for the international development of Belgian companies.
WBDM Fashion Programme
This fashion programme focuses on talents and companies that are keen to speed up their commercial development and improve their brand image. Four financial prizes are awarded every year as well as personalized coaching for six designers, allowing them to work with the specialist consultants recruited by WBDM. This assistance helps them to be better prepared for international markets, whether in terms of strategy, commercial positioning, communication or image.
