During this year’s BEDA Design Forum, we dive into:
- Deploying design – how might we
- foster skills and lifelong learning?
- invest in design research to bridge the science-implementation gap?
- strengthening intellectual property rights.
- Strengthening democracy by rebuilding trust and citizen engagement with design methods – how might we
- engage in citizen-centric policy-making?
- provide funds to design projects that address social challenges?
- Creating a safe Europe for the digital extension of our living environments – how might we
- support the need for a harmonised European mutual understanding between all European Member states of the AI-act?
- safeguard and promote public values in the digital transitions?
The programme is under construction but will include a blend of talks and great examples, combined with the opportunity to exchange reflections and knowledge to foster inspiration and emphasise the value of meaningful conversations.
Background: Last year BEDA launched the BEDA Position Paper that points to the actions needed to support the BEDA vision: Design to be embraced in Europe as a driver for sustainable growth and prosperity. During the BEDA Design Forum 2025 we encourage everybody to further explore, debate, and showcase how to unleash the potential of designers. We don’t want to invent any wheels, but leveraging on great experiences and good examples and practises from all over Europe; within the design community and beyond.
