BEDA represented in the Group of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) in the context of Industrial Strategy
DG Grow established an expert group of Cultural and Creative Industries in the context of Industrial Strategy in Europe for a two year period 2019 to 2020. BEDA was kindly invited to nominate a representative in the group. The group has so far held two meetings, the first in February 2019 with President Bart Ahsmann representing BEDA, and the second in October 2019 with President Päivi Tahkokallio representing BEDA. Three more meetings will take place during 2020.
By the end of 2020, the task of the group is to produce a position paper on the future of Europe’s cultural and creative industries and the position paper will be relevant to BEDA’s member organisations as design is a significant part of these, and more so, as one of the key questions being considered is how the creative industries can add value to other industries in Europe.
The documents related to the group will be published in the Members only section of the BEDA website. During 2020, BEDA members will be approached to give feedback and input on the topics discussed in the group. Your contribution to the final position paper will form an important part of BEDA’s ability to influence policy at the European level.
