Design Networking Hub in Nairobi

The German Design Museum Foundation is currently developing the Design Networking Hub – a digital knowledge and networking platform to support German-Kenyan cooperation projects in the field of design. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office; cooperation partners are the German Design Council and the Design Kenya Society.

In order to make the information offered on the digital platform as user-oriented as possible, the Hub supports a pilot group of ten German and Kenyan designers and architects throughout the entire process of a bilateral cooperation project and the development of joint product, business or non-profit ideas. From 27 to 30 September, a joint presence workshop took place in Nairobi, where initial project ideas in the areas of mobility, housing and digitalisation were developed and exchanged with local network partners. The ideas are now being further developed, small teams are being formed and suitable mentors are being sought. The entire course of the project is continuously documented on the hub‘s website.
