Internationalisation of Spanish Design: The exhibition From Spain With Design / Identity & Territory travels to Portugal & webinar ‘Exporting design’

»From Spain With Design«, the exhibition of the most representative and recent design work made in Spain arrives in Aveiro (Portugal) in its first international stop. Organised by READ with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Xunta de Galicia, FSWD / Identity & Territory is conceived as a living “entity” and so the pieces exhibited vary from one exhibition to another. In Aveiro it is made up of more than 120 works of industrial, graphic, interior and service design, which are presented following five thematic axes: «Identity and territory», «Intersections», «Internationalisation», «Sustainability» and «Complicities».

We cannot miss the 6m-high mural made up of 54 posters that illustrate the theme of the exhibition; nor the interventions by Arauna Studio/Rai Pinto to improve the experience of children in hospitals; neither the glasses for blind people by Alegre Design, that transform the surrounding 3D space into intuitive sounds; or experimental projects of a sustainable nature, such as the chair designed and made with fishing nets by youngster Amalia Puga or the chair called ‘Revés’ by Muka Design Lab, that joins the exhibition for the first time ever.

The exhibition is open until March 30th, 2022, in the atriums of the central and Rectorate building of the University of Aveiro, from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 8pm.

‘Exporting design’
In addition, following this context of internationalisation, the READ’s working group ‘From Spain With Design’ organises this month the training ‘Exporting design’, a webinar with a training program for professionals and Spanish design studios that want to explore the sale of their services abroad.

The objectives are to prospect the possibilities of the different markets, to know the requirements that must be met, to know the steps to take before facing the internationalisation processes, where problems can be found and what planning must be followed.

This training will feature various speakers who will share their own experience, such as María Ramos, from NM Type (Santiago de Compostela-Stockholm), Miguel Crespo and Sixto Martín from Zooco Estudio (Madrid-Santander), Marcelo Alegre from Alegre Design (Valencia), Fagerström studio (Madrid) or the export agent Francesco Monesi.
