Lithuanian Design Forum Wins Prestigious Design Award
The Lithuanian Design Forum has been awarded the prestigious Best Design Media Award at the global A’ Design Awards held in Italy. This recognition was granted for five different projects.
The international award was given to the Lithuanian Design Forum for:
- The Lithuanian Design Prize competition “Good Design”,
- The virtual database of Lithuanian designers and their works, “dizainovacija.lt”,
- The Design Week Festival,
- The Lithuanian design exhibition series “Design Lithuania”,
- Publications dedicated to design.
According to the head of the association, Vytautas Gurevičius, this award not only proves the outstanding professionalism of Lithuanian designers but also helps spread awareness of them worldwide.
“It is clear that this recognition belongs not only to us but also to the entire Lithuanian design community. Our projects have helped designers start their careers, establish themselves, and reach new heights in the highly competitive and ever-challenging design world. We are delighted to be noticed and appreciated globally,” said Vytautas Gurevičius.
He also emphasized that receiving an award for five projects is a sign that the design community is on the right path, expanding its creativity, innovation, and relevance.
The nationally recognized “Good Design” competition aims to identify and highlight the best design works and products created in Lithuania. Meanwhile, the “dizainovacija.lt” database serves as a platform to represent Lithuanian designers and increase their visibility to potential clients, employers, and manufacturers. This website showcases Lithuanian designers’ works for those interested in design, offering the possibility to purchase or order selected items.
For two decades, “Design Week” has provided Lithuanian designers with a platform to showcase their work to the public across the country. At the same time, “Design Lithuania” is an exhibition series that has already visited several European capitals. These exhibitions aim to present the best works of both professional and emerging Lithuanian designers at Europe’s most important design events.
The Design Forum does not intend to rest on its laurels and is already inviting participants to register for “Design Week ’25,” which will take place from 2–8 June.
“This event is undoubtedly an excellent starting point for young designers. They can not only showcase their skills but also gain inspiration, build valuable connections, and sharpen their expertise. Every Design Week is full of surprises and discoveries, proving how smart, innovative, and creative our young designers are,” says V. Gurevičius.
