New SME Fund Voucher Supports Craft and Industrial Geographical Indications
The SME Fund 2026 continues to offer valuable support for designers, creatives, and SME’s across Europe looking to protect and grow their intellectual property assets. In addition to existing funding for IP pre-diagnostic services, trade marks, designs, patents, and Community plant varieties, a new Voucher 5 has been introduced to support the registration of Craft and Industrial Geographical Indications (CIGIs).
The new voucher provides up to €2,000 in financial support per beneficiary to help cover costs related to obtaining geographical indication protection for craft and industrial products. Eligible expenses include national and EU application fees, as well as the preparation of the required product specification documents.
The scheme is open to a range of stakeholders. Eligible applicants include producer groups established in the EU, provided they include at least one SME, single producers qualifying as SMEs, and local or regional authorities and private entities designated by Member States.
