Open Call 1: for Artists, Citizens & Designers

Milan – Problems Looking for a Solution
Designers, artists, and urban creators are invited to develop sustainable, design-based solutions to specific urban challenges identified by local stakeholders. Focus areas include eco-friendly mobility, neglected space activation, public square revitalisation, and climate adaptation using recycled fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP).

Barcelona – Solutions Looking for a Problem
This residency supports creators with independent, experimental ideas for urban innovation. Participants propose a solution first, then define the problem it addresses. Projects can be artistic, functional, or conceptual, with an emphasis on recyclable materials like FRP.

Grant & Support

Financial contribution: €17,500 per project
Duration: 8-month residency (September 2025 – April 2026)
Support includes:

• Mentorship from YouRban experts,
• Access to co-creation digital tools (Kartu platform),
• Collaboration with an Urban Factory in Milan.
