Türkiye Design Council | Furkan Demirci
During this ODD Furkan Demirci will elaborate on the strategies for urban renewal and recovery used after a natural disaster. We can learn from this and apply the best practices also to our cities to ensure their longevity and sustainability.
Join us for this online session on the “Revitalization of Hatay” project, coordinated by the Türkiye Design Council (TDC). Discover how TDC is combining historical preservation, urban planning, and community support to rebuild Hatay after the recent earthquakes. Learn about the efforts to create 5,000 sustainable homes and support disadvantaged groups through the TTV Hatay Community Center.
With extensive research and data collection on the region’s heritage, natural, and sociological structures, this project brings together 46 national and international offices to create a participatory and comprehensive urban planning process.
