«Aperitivo: Spanish Design in Conversation» is an international project showcasing Spanish design at WDC Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 through an installation and open dialogues connecting designers with the local creative ecosystem. The session format, based on conversations and open tables, focuses on design processes, decisions and practices, encouraging a more open and horizontal exchange. The “aperitivo” is understood as a moment before the outcome, a space of activation where ideas emerge, circulate and evolve collectively.
Initiative curated by Jorge Penadés, with Inma Bermúdez, Tomás Alonso, El Último Grito, Miguel Leiro, Attua Aparicio, Lucas Muñoz, Idoia Cuesta and Sara Regal.
Organised by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Design Foundation of the Region of Valencia and the Spanish Network of Design Associations, in collaboration with World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026. «Aperitivo» is part of a broader strategy for the internationalisation of Spanish design, aligned with cultural and creative positioning goals at the European level, and is framed within actions funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – Next Generation EU.
