Mission Statement
As a member of the BEDA Board of Directors, I am committed to strengthening the position of European designers in facing the contemporary challenges of intellectual property and artificial intelligence.
A communication designer since 1989, my artistic practice has developed notably in poster design, with nearly 300 international exhibitions in over 40 countries. Teaching in design schools across China, the United States, Mexico, Finland, and France for 23 years has reinforced my conviction that designers share common challenges requiring coordinated responses.
As co-founder and former president of Alliance France Design for over two decades, I initiated fundamental frameworks transforming the profession in France: Calkulator pricing guide (2008), Public Procurement Charter for Design (2011), and Code of Ethics for Professional Designers (2012). These collaborative innovations ultimately led to a unique social status for independent designers from all disciplines, granting them access to authors’ social security benefits.
Intellectual property, innovation and digital transition: Drawing on my experience in establishing fair trade principles, I aim to strengthen IP protection frameworks for contemporary design practices. IP should be seen as a tool for mutual development benefiting both creators and clients. I am currently developing Copryce, an AI-augmented platform for design pricing, which enables me to understand the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence poses to our profession, particularly regarding creative work valuation and copyright redefinition.
My experience in building consensus among diverse stakeholders and navigating complex regulatory environments will serve BEDA’s mission of empowering European designers and strengthening our collective impact.
