The iF design award night has become one of the most significant international design events in recent years. 2,000 guests from design, business, culture, politics and media from more than 35 countries will come together at BMW Welt in Munich to honour the winners of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2018.
On 22 and 23 March 2018 the International Design Center Berlin will host a two-day networking programme in Łódź. The "Berlin Poland" event intends to connect smaller- and medium-sized Berlin fashion labels with Polish clothing manufacturers.
On 14 June the International Design Center Berlin will host a conference on Circular Economy and Ecodesign at the EUREF Campus in Berlin. Alongside workshops, lectures and talks, the conference will present the exhibition "Reconsider Design".
The 2018 German Design Awards were held on 9 February 2018. In the competition’s 49 categories, a total of 45 gold prizes were awarded.
Arctic Design Week, which took place from 19 to 25 February in Rovaniemi, Finland, put the focus on circular economy and design with a varied programme that included several events on sustainable design. The exhibition "Reconsider Design", which is part of the EcoDesign Circle project, is coordinated in Finland by Design Forum Finland and will be on show at Science Centre Pilke until 11 March 2018.
MUNICH CREATIVE BUSINESS WEEK (MCBW), which is taking place between 3 and 11 March 2018, is the largest design event in Germany. It is organised by BEDA member bayern design GmbH and sponsored by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology and the City of Munich.
The Plastics Strategy, which is part of the European Commission’s Circular Economy Package, aims to ensure that all plastic packaging is recyclable by 2030.
